The Pastor’s Connection – July 26, 2018

During the course of a recent review by the Archdiocesan Finance Office, the Project HOPE program was evaluated for continued viability.

With increasing labor costs, declining profit margins over the last several years, and the fact that selling gift cards is considered Unrelated Business Income for the church (and the income would be subject to a nearly 40% tax), the St. Stephen’s Finance Council made the decision that Project HOPE is no longer a viable program for the parish.

Over the next few weeks, the inventory on hand will continue to be sold until depleted. The program will be discontinued at that time.

Further updates will be included in the Pastor’s Connection and the parish bulletin.

This week:

July 28/29 – We will have a visiting Missionary Priest next weekend.
