Patty Reznicek, has been a parishioner since our church’s founding and gives her time and talent to help us in the Flower Garden located in the atrium next to our Parish Office.

How did you get started volunteering at St. Stephen the Martyr?

We’ve been parishioners since the beginning and it was just the culture that “we all tried to help where we can help.”  I started volunteering with the Religious Education program, until our kids grew older. After volunteering with RE, I took some time to reflect on my next thing.  I felt called to help with the flower garden in the Courtyard. I started working in the flower garden five years ago and at that time, the Mary statue was covered in weeds.  I just wanted to help make it beautiful again as we approached our 25th year anniversary.

What do you enjoy most about helping in the flower garden?

It fulfills me and gives me peace.  I hope the garden brings joy to people.

Do you have any advice to other parishioners looking to give their time and talent?

See what fits with your schedule. Find a niche and let it progress. It’s okay to take “that break” too and reflect and led God lead you to the next task.
