Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Within a prepared environment (the atrium) children and catechists together nurture their relationship with Jesus. Embracing Maria Montessori’s vision of the developmental stages of the child, the CGS catechist learns how to proclaim Gospel themes in a way that nurtures the love relationship between God and the child, and allows this relationship to flourish. Presentations based on the Bible and Catholic Liturgy enables those present to encounter the living God. Through it’s hands-on, interactive method, children become accustomed to prayer and contemplation of the Gospels.

We are pleased to offer this program both through the Parish’s Religious Education Program and the School’s Early Childhood Program.

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program is run completely by volunteers. We need your help to be able to continue to offer this wonderful program!

Open to all adults—women or men, parents, grandparents, and friends! You just need Safe Environment training (or sign up for the free training) and be Catholic. No preschool child or SSM parish membership required!
