Lent at St. Stephen the Martyr

Lent is a 40 day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday. It’s a period of preparation to celebrate the Lord’s Resurrection at Easter. During these 40 Days, we pray particularly for those who are preparing to enter the Church at Easter.

During Lent, we are called to:

  • Seek the Lord in prayer & Sacred Scripture
  • Serve by giving alms
  • Practice self-control through fasting
