Preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation

At Confirmation, the Holy Spirit is given to those already baptized in order to make them strong and perfect Christians and soldiers of Jesus Christ.

St. Stephen School and Religious Education students begin to prepare for Confirmation in eighth grade. Below is all the information current Confirmation Candidates need to know:

Confirmation Student and Parent Meeting: September 21, 2026 at 7 PM
Confirmation Sponsor Experience: November 13, 2026 from 6:30-8 PM OR November 14, 2026 from 10-11:30 AM
Confirmation Retreat: March 19/20, 2027
Confirmation Rehearsals:
- May 6^th or 7^th
Confirmation Masses:
- May 11th, 12th, or 13th, 2027
- 6:30 PM
- Confirmation Masses will be assigned in September.

Confirmation Sponsor Selection

Form due by October 7, 2026

Confirmation Saint Selection

Form due by November 18, 2026

Service Hours

Students may begin submitting service hours as of June 1^st, 2026 and must have submitted completion of 10 total volunteer throughout the year.

Students must fill out a NEW online form for EACH service activity throughout the year!

10 Service hours are due April 14, 2027

Letter to the Archbishop

During the second semester, each student must write a letter using the tutorial below.

Print off a typed copy of student’s letter with the student’s handwritten signature at the bottom and turn in to the Religious Education office or student’s religion teacher.
